Of the diseases presenting osteolytic liesons in the clavicle on rentgenograms, multiple myeloma must be con sidered. It usually has multiple osteolytic lesions in bones other than the primarily involved bone. A 63-year old woman had had pain and swelling at the distal end of the left clavicle for one month without notable cause. Clinical diagnosis initially was either a chronic osteomyelitis or metastatic bone tumor. However, biopsy report was multipe myeloma, the clavicle being probably the primary site. Subsquent skeletal survey revealed classical multiple punched-out lesions in the skull and the pelvis. No Bence-Jones protein was found in the urine but immuneglobulin G was 500mg higher than normal.
